HYPNOSIS
“It is a state of consciousness – not unconsciousness or sleep – a state of consciousness or awareness in which there is a marked receptiveness to ideas and understandings and an increased willingness to respond either positively or negatively to those ideas.
It derives from processes and functioning within the subject. And is not some mystical procedure, but rather a systematic utilization of experiential learning's– that is, the extensive learning's acquired through the process of living itself.”
The Collected Papers of Milton H. Erickson, Volume IV of the same series, page 113
“Hypnosis is a state of mind in which the critical faculty of the human is bypassed, and selective thinking established.... “the critical faculty of your mind is that part which passes judgment."
Dave Elman “Hypnotherapy”, pg. 26, 1964
"Hypnotism -- whether spontaneous, self-induced, or induced by a therapist -- is nothing at all like the popular misconception based on stage acts and movies. A person does not pass out or lose control when he or she is hypnotized. In a hypnotic trance the subconscious is opened, but the conscious mind remains intact. No one can be forced to do something against one's will under hypnosis. Hypnosis is not a state of mental weakness or gullibility, but rather a state which opens the mind to suggestions and only those suggestions which the subconscious mind knows are beneficial."
Lee Pulos "Beyond Hypnosis" pg. 4 1990
"Hypnotherapy is a means of changing our mind, recreating our reality."
Me
I have a very simple guiding principal underlying the core of my hypnotherapy, and that is, all experiences in life offer the opportunity of learning and wisdom. Each bit of wisdom we acquire offers the joy of compassion. And each compassionate understanding offers the completion of love.
We all have a unique identity of a cohesive electromagnetic consciousness, a part of a vastness we pass in and out of. Call it what most pleases you and a rose is still a rose. We exist.
Not knowing we exist the identification with matter is like a gravitational force to overcome and that overcoming is ultimately achieved when an ideal of love is expressed in mind, attitudes, and thoughts and in actions.
It is a simple understanding promising an end of fear in our minds There is enough love out there to transform anything, it is only necessary to accept love to have the courage to give love.
